Most coffee you buy at a grocery store was roasted weeks or months ago. By the time it reaches your cup, the peak flavor is long gone.
At Midway Market, that’s not how it works.
Roasted In-Store, Every Day
We roast coffee beans right inside the store. Not at a warehouse across town. Not at a facility in another state. Right here, where you can watch it happen and smell it from the produce aisle.
Fresh-roasted coffee tastes different. The flavors are brighter, the aroma is stronger, and the overall experience is noticeably better than anything that’s been sitting in a bag on a shelf for weeks.
The Espresso Bar
Midway Market features a full espresso bar where our baristas pull shots from the same beans roasted just steps away. Whether you’re grabbing a quick latte on your morning commute or settling in with a cappuccino while you shop, the coffee is as fresh as it gets.
The espresso bar is part of the store’s bistro area — a space designed for sitting down, slowing down, and enjoying something good. Pair your coffee with a fresh pastry from the bakery or a meal from the bistro.
Why On-Site Roasting Matters
Freshness you can taste. Coffee is at its peak flavor within 2-4 weeks of roasting. Most grocery store bags are already past that window when they hit the shelf. Ours isn’t.
Transparency. You can see the roasting process. You know exactly when your beans were roasted. No guessing, no mystery dates.
Variety. On-site roasting means we can offer small-batch roasts, seasonal blends, and single-origin coffees that change with availability. Think of it as a coffee program, not just a coffee aisle.
Supporting the craft. Specialty coffee is about treating the bean with the same care and attention that a good butcher gives to meat or a good baker gives to bread. It’s a craft, and we take it seriously.
North Spokane’s Coffee Scene
Spokane’s coffee culture has exploded in recent years. Great roasters and cafes are scattered across the city. But if you live in North Spokane County — Mead, Colbert, Deer Park — the options thin out fast.
Midway Market brings a legitimate coffee experience to the north side. No need to drive into the city for a quality cup.
Coming Summer 2026
Midway Market opens Summer 2026 at the Village at Midway development (Hatch Road & Highway 395, Colbert, WA). The coffee program is one of the things we’re most excited about — and we think you will be too.
